Foot Washing Event

Date: April 14, 2022

Time: 10am to 12pm

Location: 301 North 5th, Steubenville

In John 13:14–17, Jesus instructs His disciples: “If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.”

We are excited to gather with the community, once again, as we hold our annual foot washing event at the Urban Mission.  This unique, but timeless, event is one that brings people together from all walks of life to find connection through the act of service, love and compassion.

While the act of foot washing is meaningful, it’s also what happens throughout the course of the day that provides a rich experience for all. The art of gathering, the gift of service, the sacredness of prayer, and the tangible expressions of God’s love through the distribution of toiletries, socks, and a meal – all point people to the abundance of God – in the days leading up to Easter.  If you feel called to join us on this day, there are multiple ways to serve.  Call ahead or just come! You are welcome!

Leading up to our event, we’ll be collecting socks and toiletries.  All items can be dropped off at our main office, located at 311 North 6th Street, Steubenville.
