Christmas @ Urban Mission

Christmas @ Urban Mission

This holiday season, the Urban Mission will continue to offer our Christmas programming, but with a few changes.

Families will still shop for toys, but in a manner consistent with local and state health department recommendations. Donors will still have the opportunity to give, but can do so by choosing the most convenient way possible. Volunteers will still have a chance to serve, but in a variety of new ways to limit exposure.

As we approach the holidays, we invite you to join us in the following ways:

  • Provide a financial gift to the Urban Mission to purchase toys or food for families in need. Please send your financial donation to Urban Mission, 311 North 6th Street, Steubenville, OH 43952 or donate online at https://www.urbanmission.org/donate/
  • Purchase toys for a specific age group. You can do so by shopping for toys in your local store and dropping them off at the Urban Mission or shopping online through the Urban Mission’s Amazon.com Christmas Wish List. For more information about donating in this way or to learn where our greatest needs are, please call Cynthia Lytle at 740.282.8010 or email clytle@urbanmission.org.
  • Give of your time by volunteering. Volunteers are essential to our work during the holiday season. Please call us today at 740.282.8010 and ask for Tiffany Beckwith if you’d like to volunteer. Current volunteer opportunities include serving in our food warehouse or with our Christmas toy program.
  • Host an online fundraiser for Urban Mission. Facebook is a great venue to raise funds for charities like the Urban Mission. Each month, we receive a check through donations given online through Facebook. If you’d like to set up your own fundraiser for Urban Mission, here’s a link with all the details: https://www.facebook.com/fundraisers/

No matter which way you choose to give, thank you for your support – especially during this difficult year!
