In a culture built on consumption, it is easy to forget the poor that Jesus cared so much about. We get caught up in acquiring, buying, eating. Yet paradoxically, the more stuff we consume, the more our spirits wither and starve.

Join us on Thursday, February 11th (6pm) as we participate in a rich discussion on how to engage others more fully – especially those living on the margins of society.

On this night, you’ll also be invited to journey with Urban Mission staff and volunteers as we participate in 40 days of solidarity with the poor. Using Chris Seay’s book, “A Place at the Table” as a guide, this experience will not only impact you personally, but also the world around you.

Books are free, but to ensure we purchase enough books, guests are asked to RSVP by February 5th – 740.282.8010.

We will gather in the Unity Kitchen dining hall at the Urban Mission, 301 North 5th Street, Steubenville.
