Results of God's Love
Quite
simply, Urban Mission is an expression of Gods love for
the least of these. Thanks to you, we have completed
another banner year of service to the low income population of
the Upper Ohio Valley! In our continuing effort to tell
the story of where your dollars and volunteer hours go,
Urban Mission is pleased to report the following ministry results
for year 2008:
Awards
- Franciscan
University "Poverello" Medal for service to the poor
through Christian Charity.
- Urban
Mission received national recognition through the Point
of Light Award for excellence in community service.
- Second
Harvest Food Bank Award for most diverse set of services.
Grocery
Distributions

low income families in Ohio and West Virginia registered to
receive help

persons resided in the Homeless Shelter: 123 children and 85 adults

Joshua
Summer Work Camp
- 16
groups (379 people) from Delaware, Illinois, Indiana,
Minnesota, New York and all over Ohio completed 94 repair
projects (10,601) hours of service) for 34 low-income homeowners, community and Urban Mission.
Christmas
Programs

children 12 and under received toys and gifts
