Volunteering

Volunteers are the heart of Urban Mission. In 2008, Urban Mission was the recipient of 48,437 hours of volunteer service.

The best single indicator of the importance of volunteering at Urban Mission is this: in 2008, Urban Mission’s Soup Kitchen served 18,921 hot lunches with just one part-time employee (Toni Hubbard, Soup Kitchen Director). Literally hundreds of volunteers make this and other programs of Urban Mission possible.

Under the direction of Rev. Bruce Hitchcock and Program Director Linda Smith, the Volunteer Programs continue to flourish.

If you or your group is interested in a hands-on opportunity to make a difference, contact Linda by phone at (740) 282-2911 or by email at lsmith@urbanmission.org.
